Stepping into my new role as Supervisor of Community, Culture, and Wellness, in addition to being the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Coordinator for Southern Westchester BOCES, fills me with profound purpose and excitement. This career step is not solely a professional advancement but an  opportunity to truly impact lives.  My mission is simple yet powerful: to create inclusive environments where every individual can thrive and be their authentic selves without reservation.

Authenticity has always been the guiding principle in my life and work. I believe that fostering an environment where individuals feel safe and encouraged to share their true selves unlocks their potential for more meaningful contributions to our communities and organizations. I am committed to fostering spaces where students and adults alike, feel empowered to speak their truth and be unapologetically themselves.

I am deeply committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the SWBOCES organization and recognize the importance of creating spaces where people from all backgrounds feel valued, respected, and heard.Through the implementation of thoughtful policies, comprehensive training, and strategic initiatives, I aim to dismantle systemic barriers and promote equity at every level.

My path to this role has been shaped by a diverse range of  personal and professional experiences. I am a mother of two sons; I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of inclusion and the detrimental effects of exclusion. My dedication to equity and justice is deeply personal, driven by the belief that my children, and indeed all children, deserve to be treated with the utmost respect, dignity, and appreciation for their inherent brilliance and individuality. This fuels my passion for equity and justice, inspiring me to dedicate my career to fostering positive change for every student that we serve.

I look forward to  collaborating with colleagues, students and community members who bring their unique skills and perspectives to the table. Together, we have the opportunity to create lasting impact that resonates beyond the present moment, and fosters a sustainable culture of belonging.
